Innings Festivals bringing music, road closures to Tempe for 2 weekends

PHOENIX – The Innings Festival and Extra Innings Festival will bring the sounds of music — and traffic — to Tempe over the next two weekends.

Both events take place at Tempe Beach Park on the south side of Tempe Town Lake.

The three-day Innings Festival is up first on Feb. 20-22, with Mumford & Sons, Twenty One Pilots and Blink-182 in the headline spots.

Extra Innings Festival, a two-day sister event, is on deck for Feb. 27-28. Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley are co-headlining the first night, and Kane Brown and Hardy are topping the bill on the second night.

Only single-day general admission and GA-plus tickets were still available for Innings Festival as of Feb. 20, although the event has a verified resale program that could include other pass options.

Meanwhile, all of the Extra Innings Festival ticket options were still available from the official site.

Concertgoers are encouraged to use rideshare services or public transportation. The Valley Metro light rail has a nearby stop at Mill Avenue and Third Street.

Tempe road closures scheduled for Innings Festival, Extra Innings Festival

Motorists should be on the lookout for detours near Tempe Beach Park for the two events.

Westbound W. Rio Salado Parkway was closed from from E. Rio Salado Parkway to Hardy Drive on Feb. 18 and won’t reopen until 6 p.m. on March 1.

Additionally, these roads are closing during the following times for Innings Festival:

• Eastbound W. Rio Salado Parkway from Hardy Drive to E. Rio Salado Parkway, 8 a.m. Feb. 20 to 5 a.m. Feb. 23.
• E. Rio Salado Parkway between Ash and Mill avenues, 8 a.m.-midnight on Feb. 20, 21 and 22.
• Southbound Mill Avenue from Washington Street to Second Street, 10:30 a.m.-midnight on Feb. 20, 21 and 22.

Furthermore, these roads are closing during the following times for Extra Innings Festival:

• Eastbound W. Rio Salado Parkway from Hardy Drive to E. Rio Salado Parkway, 8 a.m. Feb. 27 to 5 a.m. March 1.
• E. Rio Salado Parkway between Ash and Mill avenues, 8 a.m.-midnight on Feb. 27 and Feb. 28.
• Southbound Mill Avenue from Washington Street to Second Street, 10:30 a.m.-midnight on Feb. 27 and 28.
