Car crash in Phoenix leaves bicyclist with life-threatening injuries

A bicyclist was critically injured after a car crash around 10 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

PHOENIX — A bicyclist was critically injured after a car crash on Wednesday night in Phoenix, authorities said.

Officers with the Phoenix Police Department responded to the area of North Black Canyon Freeway and Windrose Drive around 10 p.m.

They found the injured man in the roadway with his bike.

The vehicle that struck him remained on the scene, police said.

The Phoenix Fire Department arrived at the scene and took him to nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Currently, detectives don’t believe impairment played a role in the collision.
