Pilot dead after plane crashes into northern Arizona field

PHOENIX — A man flying an aircraft in northern Arizona has died after his plane crashed on Wednesday night, authorities said.
The 64-year-old man, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene after deputies with the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a downed plane north of Prescott Valley around 8 p.m.
The plane crash took place near Poquito Valley Road, and deputies found the wreckage in an open field with the help of Native Air Ambulance Medical Transport.
The National Transportation Safety Board will lead the investigation into what caused this crash.
