PHOENIX — Porter Airlines, a Canadian carrier, launched a nonstop service between Phoenix and Vancouver on Monday.

The seasonal route between Vancouver International Airport and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is the airline’s first transborder route from western Canada.

“Being able to give travelers more convenient options to travel from Vancouver is a pivotal moment for Porter,” Andrew Pierce, vice president of network planning and reporting at Porter Airlines, said in a press release. “This route makes Phoenix’s unique desert and mountain landscape more accessible to our passengers in the west and offers travelers a seamless connection to additional destinations in the U.S., through our codeshare partner, American Airlines.”

Each of the flights will take place on the airline’s Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, which can seat 132 passengers and has no middle seat.

As part of its elevated economy, all passengers have access to free premium snacks, complimentary beer and wine and free Wi-Fi, according to the release.

For those looking for a more upgraded experience, PorterReserve fare includes fresh meals, extra legroom, flexible flight change options, two checked bags and a dedicated check-in. Passengers on the PorterClassic fare can purchase those same features a la carte.

The seasonal route will be the airline’s third route to Phoenix, joining a year-round service from Toronto Pearson International Airport and seasonal Ottawa flights.

“We’re excited for Porter’s growth in the Phoenix market,” Phoenix Sky Harbor Aviation Director Chad Makovsky said. “Their partnerships and commitment mean that travelers have more high-quality, convenient options between Phoenix and Canada.”

Passengers can book their flights through the airline’s website.
