Hadrian opens $200M manufacturing and software hub in Mesa

PHOENIX — An advanced manufacturing company that builds factories powered by artificial intelligence recently celebrated the opening of a 290,000-square-foot facility in Mesa.

Hadrian, a California-based defense and aerospace manufacturer, has invested $200 million in the facility, which is called Factory 3.

It will feature autonomous production workflows, high-tech manufacturing systems and deep integration of robotics and AI to accelerate productivity, according to an announcement from the city of Mesa.

“Factory 3 is not just a facility,” Hadrian founder and CEO Chris Power said in an announcement. “It’s a platform for AI-enhanced production that strengthens America’s industrial base and brings high-quality jobs to Mesa and the broader region.”

How will Hadrian’s Factory 3 in Mesa impact Valley economy?

The Greater Phoenix Economic Council said Factory 3 will bring 350 jobs to the Valley.

Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs said the facility will strengthen Arizona’s leadership in advanced manufacturing, aerospace and artificial intelligence.

Hobbs joined Power, as well as U.S. Rep. Andy Biggs of Arizona, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the facility last Thursday.

“Hadrian’s innovative technology is redefining what’s possible for American industry and setting a new global standard for production,” Biggs said in the announcement. “Hadrian’s growth here puts American workers first and helps to ensure that advanced manufacturing remains anchored right here at home.”
