SAFE Alert canceled for missing 74-year-old Gilbert woman

Authorities canceled a SAFE Alert on Saturday for a missing 74-year-old woman from Gilbert.

PHOENIX — Authorities canceled a SAFE Alert on Saturday for a missing 74-year-old woman from Gilbert.

The alert was canceled after Melody Ann La Gue was found safe in Mesa, according to the Gilbert Police Department.

When the alert was first issued, La Gue was last seen on foot near Baseline Road and Solomon Street on Friday around 2 p.m.

La Gue is described as 5 feet, 3 inches tall and 120 pounds. She has blonde hair and brown eyes.

She suffers from a medical condition which may cause her to become disoriented or confused. No other information was made available.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
