Donkey appears scared and stays with Desert Hills firefighters as they battle Willow Fire

Desert Hills firefighters got some unexpected company as they battled the Willow Fire.

A donkey, all by itself, stood next to the firefighters as they did their job in Mohave Valley. According to Havasu News, it would not go anywhere else while the firefighters were around.

“The donkey approached us, and wouldn’t leave our side,” Desert Hills Fire Chief Bell Weber told Havasu News. “It seemed to be scared, and stayed with us the entire time we were there.”

Weber was on location as the five firefighters took care of structure-protection.

The donkey was hosed off and was allowed to stay with them throughout the course of their work.

It was a rare event for an animal to approach emergency personnel according to Weber.
