Snow Week turns the Arizona Science Center into a winter wonderland

PHOENIX — The Arizona Science Center is putting into motion a plan to continue holiday cheer even after Christmas passes.

This year, the museum near Washington and Seventh Streets in Phoenix will launch its 14th annual Snow Week on Dec. 26.

The 2025 Snow Week, which runs through Jan. 4, 2026, will bring 19 winter-themed events to the center, most of which are included in the price of admission.

One of those attractions is Snow Hill, which will fill the center of Heritage Square with artificial snow, according to Arizona Science Center CEO Tammy Stewart.

“Our Snow Hill gives Arizonans — whether it’s their first snowy experience or not — the chance to make snow angels, dive into epic snowball fights and feel what a real frosty winter is all about,” Stewart said in a recent press release.

Snow Hill and the other attractions will be available during the museum’s daily hours of 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesdays through Sundays. However, members of the Arizona Science Center can get in an hour early each day.

It’s one way the Valley is getting into the holiday spirit. There are also various festive light displays, Christmas events and various holiday cocktail pop-ups.

What to do during 2025 Snow Week at the Arizona Science Center

In addition to Snow Hill, the Arizona Science Center offers several popular attractions, including:

• SnowPals Construction Zone: A building exhibit where kids can wear hard hats and learn about construction.
• Dazzling Demonstrations: Performed by the Blue Crew at the Daniel Cracchiolo Theater. Showtimes are 10:20 a.m., 11:20 a.m., 12:20 p.m., 1:20 p.m., 2:20 p.m. and 3:20 p.m.
• Fire n’ Ice SNOWdown: A daily demonstration of “when fire and ice meet,” held at 11:20 a.m. and 2:20 p.m. in the Cracchiolo Theater.
• Clouds of Fun: End each day of Snow Week at 4 p.m. with a spectacular demonstration of cloud formations. Watch what happens when boiling hot water meets liquid nitrogen, creating a giant cloud outside the entrance to close out the day.

There will also be a Reindeer Run and curiosity cart activities, including how whales stay warm, ice fishing, winter scent guessing the Northern Lights and more.

Special activities are available only on Dec. 26 and 27:

• Interactive games teaching kids how water is sourced, used in the home, and treated afterward.
• A magic and mentalism show by Richard Steele.

Both special events are presented by EPCOR, a private utility company that is supporting the week.
