Uber driver accused of sexual assault: MCSO asks public to help find suspect

PHOENIX — A Maricopa County Uber driver is currently the suspect in a sexual assault investigation, authorities announced Monday.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said it is investigating reports that 33-year-old Lemolineaux Bain sexually assaulted a victim in an announcement shared with KTAR News 92.3 FM.

MCSO began investigating Bain after a 21-year-old woman reported being sexually assaulted by her Uber driver after a night out with her friends.

Her parents interrupted the assault and confronted Bain, who allegedly fled the scene when authorities tried to detain him for questioning.

He is currently at large, and MCSO urges anyone who knows his location to contact them at 602-876-1011. Any detail, no matter how small, could move the case forward, authorities said.

Other potential victims of Uber driver should come forward, MCSO says

MCSO later uncovered information suggesting there may be additional victims.

Authorities believe some individuals might not recall assaults due to intoxication and encouraged anyone hesitant to speak up to come forward.

Deputies urged the public to report any troubling encounters with the driver, or share information about potential victims or inappropriate behavior.
