Police investigating downtown Phoenix crash that left 3 injured, including 2 officers

PHOENIX — Police are investigating a crash in downtown Phoenix that left three people injured on Saturday afternoon, including two police officers.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, the collision occurred near Seventh Avenue and Grant Street before around 1:30 p.m.

Police said that the two officers and a passenger in their Phoenix Police Tahoe were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Tahoe rolled over and was was found upside down by responding officers.

The driver of the second vehicle, also an SUV, was treated for injuries on the scene.

The early investigation suggests the second SUV ran a red light, according to a release by the Phoenix Police Department.

The area will reportedly be closed for a few hours as the investigation continues.
