Medical helicopter makes precautionary landing at Paradise Valley Park in Phoenix

A medical helicopter safely made a precautionary landing in a Phoenix park on Tuesday morning.

PHOENIX — A medical helicopter safely made a precautionary landing in a Phoenix park on Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The pilot of CareFlight 3 followed established safety protocols when landing in Paradise Valley Park off 40th Street north of Bell Road around 4 a.m., according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

The medical helicopter was carrying three crew members and a patient, who were all unharmed, to a nearby hospital at the time.

Upon landing in the park near Paradise Valley High School, the crew coordinated with ground personnel to complete the patient’s transfer to the hospital.

Officials didn’t provide a specific reason for the precautionary landing. The aircraft was undamaged in the landing but is undergoing a comprehensive inspection.
