SAFE Alert issued for missing 69-year-old man last seen in Scottsdale

PHOENIX — A SAFE Alert was issued Wednesday for a missing 69-year-old man who was last seen in Scottsdale.

John Manos was last seen driving near Indian School Road and Drinkwater Boulevard on Monday around 4 p.m., according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Police said Manos’ vehicle is a 2012 black Infiniti G37 with the Arizona license plate 550KEA.

Manos is described as a white man with gray hair and blue eyes, who is 190 pounds and 5 feet, 11 inches tall. He was last seen wearing khaki shorts and a blue golf polo shirt.

According to DPS, Manos suffers from a medical condition that can cause him to become easily lost or confused.

Anyone with information regarding Manos is asked to call the Scottsdale Police Department 480-312-5000 or contact 911.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older or who suffer from dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.

NOTE: These are different from the Turquoise Alerts started earlier this year, which we also cover for the Valley. Turquoise Alerts are for missing persons younger than 65 who don’t meet the dementia or disability requirements for a SAFE Alert.
