PHOENIX — Southbound Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway was closed overnight in the West Valley due to a fatal collision, authorities said.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS), the crash occurred on the Loop 101 just north of Bell Road around 12:20 a.m.

Police described the incident as a two-vehicle collision and said that there was a fatality, although they didn’t provide any information on the person who died.

According to DPS, the freeway has since reopened.

No other information was provided.
