Silver Alert canceled after 77-year-old man who went missing from Casa Grande was found

PHOENIX — A Silver Alert has been canceled for a missing 77-year-old man from Casa Grande, authorities announced Tuesday.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS), Wayne Mitchell Larson, 77, was reported missing out of Casa Grande on Monday.

The Casa Grande Police Department said he was last seen leaving his home around noon.

DPS canceled the alert around 8:40 a.m. on Monday.

Casa Grande police said Wednesday that the department was able to find Larson by tracking his phone.

“He was a little disoriented, but otherwise in good condition,” Casa Grande Police Department Public Information Officer Thomas Anderson said in an email to KTAR News 92.3 FM.

When Larson went missing, Casa Grande police said that he was driving a blue 2019 Nissan Rogue with Arizona license plate number 8CA0KJ.

The vehicle was last located around 5:32 p.m. Monday in California. It was headed west on Interstate 8 near Manzanita Road in the town of Boulevard, according to DPS.

The Casa Grande Police Department said in a missing persons bulletin that Larson has gone missing multiple times recently and has previously been found in Yuma and Tucson.
