PHOENIX — A man was wounded in a Labor Day shooting in west Phoenix, authorities said.

Investigators are working to develop a suspect based on evidence at the scene near 35th and Northern avenues, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Officers responded to the area around 7 p.m. Monday and found a man suffering from apparent gunshot injuries.

The victim was hospitalized with injuries that aren’t considered life threatening.

No other details about the case were immediately available.

The investigation is ongoing.
