Generally speaking, the middle child tends to get lost in the family shuffle — neither the responsible, parent-pleasing eldest nor the free-spirited baby. Awww. But according to some birth order studies, middle kids are loyal friends, excellent negotiators and kind of obsessed with fairness.
Some of those very qualities are found in many famous people, and they run the gamut from political leaders to respected financiers to tech geniuses to entertainers.

Martin Luther King, Jr.
The icon of the civil rights movement had an older sister and a younger brother.
Warren Buffett
The business magnate and philanthropist is surrounded by two sisters.
Jennifer Lopez
The singer-actress is the second of three sisters.
Bill Gates
The tech gabillionaire and philanthropist has two sisters.
Peyton Manning
The NFL star famously has a younger brother and an older brother.
David Letterman
The funnyman has two sisters.
Jan Brady
Let’s be honest, fictional Jan of “The Brady Bunch” is the most famous middle child ever, that Malcolm kid, notwithstanding.
Stuck between perfect, popular Marcia and lisping, completely adorable Cindy, Jan was just … there, whining and being jealous of her big sister.
It got better, though.
And she’s got to be loving this day.
