PHOENIX — An East Valley woman who works at a juvenile drug rehabilitation facility was arrested for allegedly trying to sell drugs to a former patient, authorities announced Wednesday.

Ashley Lutton, 39, is facing eight felony charges, including drug sales to minors, dangerous drug sales and child abuse, after being accused of trying to sell Adderall to a 17-year-old boy, according to the Mesa Police Department.

Police added that the teen was a former patient of the facility where Lutton works and had recently been discharged.

What led to Mesa woman being arrested for trying to sell drugs to teen?

The teen’s mother called police last Friday around 5:30 p.m. after allegedly finding text messages between Lutton and the boy.

In the messages, Lutton offered to sell the teen Adderall, arranged a meeting place for the sale and requested that the boy give her fentanyl and OxyContin in return, according to police.

Police added that Lutton went to the teen’s home, but left after being confronted.

As part of their investigation, officers gathered surveillance footage of Lutton at the boy’s home, confirmed what car she drove and where she lived and then obtained a search warrant.

During a search of Lutton’s car and apartment, officers found drugs that were packaged so they could be sold and guns.

Lutton was taken into custody on Sunday.

She is being held on a $10,000 bond.

I'm guessing Ashley Lutton isn't really overly concerned about this boy's recovery.
