University of Arizona stabbing at campus library leaves woman in hospital, man in custody

PHOENIX — A woman is in the hospital and a man is in custody after a stabbing at a library on the University of Arizona’s campus on Tuesday afternoon.

The stabbing took place at the university’s Main Library around 2:12 p.m., according to a community message the university issued.

The university said that neither of the individuals are students.

It also asked students to avoid the library as police investigated the incident.

The University of Arizona’s Crisis Mobile Team was at the library to provide anyone directly affected by the incident support.

No other information was available.
