Silver Alert canceled for 85-year-old man in Mesa who was found safe

PHOENIX — A Silver Alert has been canceled on Sunday by the Arizona Department of Public Safety for 85-year-old Ascencion Olea Torrez after being issued earlier that day.

Arizona DPS reported around 4 p.m. that Torrez was found safe and in good health.

The 5-foot-6, 150-pound Torrez had last been seen near the intersection of Stapley Road and Main Street in Mesa.

He was wearing a red and black flannel jacket, black pants and glasses.

Torrez suffers from a medical condition which may cause him to get easily confused.
