An intersection in the far West Valley was closed Wednesday morning due to a possible hazmat situation.

PHOENIX – An intersection in the far West Valley was closed Wednesday morning due to a possible hazmat situation, authorities said.

The all-way closure was implemented at Wintersburg and Buckeye roads after a bleach-filled tanker truck and a vehicle collided, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver of the truck was taken to a hospital for unspecified injuries, MCSO said.

A hazmat crew and deputies were dispatched to the scene, which is in an undeveloped area.

Authorities didn’t provide an estimate for when then intersection would reopen.

No other details were immediately available.
