DPS trooper seriously injured in Mesa collision while responding on motorcycle
A DPS trooper was hospitalized with serious injuries Friday after a crash in Mesa while responding on motorcycle to an incident, authorities said.

PHOENIX — An Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) trooper was hospitalized with serious injuries Friday night after a crash in Mesa while responding on motorcycle to an incident, authorities said.
The DPS trooper had lights and sirens on while traveling east on State Route 24 through a red light at the Signal Butte Road intersection.
A vehicle allegedly struck the DPS motorcycle when attempting to turn left from Signal Butte Road onto the freeway.
The trooper’s leg was seriously injured as a result, but it is not expected to threaten their life. The driver of the other vehicle was treated for minor injuries at the scene of the collision.
No other information was immediately provided.
An investigation is ongoing.

Most unfortunate.
Apparently even with lights and sirens operating, riders are still somehow invisible.
Happens all the time to motorcycles WITHOUT blinky lights. And that is when the motorcycle has a GREEN LIGHT.
