Police investigating after body found in west Phoenix canal
An investigation is underway after a body was found in a west Phoenix canal Thursday morning.

PHOENIX – An investigation is underway after a body was found in a west Phoenix canal Thursday morning, authorities said.
Phoenix Fire Department crews responded to reports of a person in the Grand Canal near 43rd Avenue and Osborn Road in Phoenix’s Maryvale area.
The man wasn’t breathing and could not be resuscitated.
Police recover body from Phoenix canal
The Phoenix Police Department responded to the scene around 6:45 a.m. and took over the investigation.
After recovering the body, police said there were no signs of foul play.
Detectives are now awaiting findings from the medical examiner. The investigation is ongoing.
