1 person in critical condition following Apache Junction house fire

PHOENIX — A person is in critical condition after a house fire in Apache Junction on Saturday morning, authorities said.

Fire crews responded to reports of a residential fire with a person trapped inside near Broadway Avenue and Ironwood Drive around 4:11 a.m., according to Superstition Fire and Medical District.

When firefighters arrived they initiated an aggressive fire attack and did a primary search of the house.

They located the person towards the rear of the home and quickly extricated the individual.

The person was then taken to the hospital in critical condition.

No firefighters were injured during the incident.

The cause of the house fire is currently under investigation.
