WATCH: Livestream of fallen Apache Junction Police officer’s funeral service completed

PHOENIX – The funeral for fallen Apache Junction Police Officer Gabriel Facio took place Monday morning in Mesa.

The service was livestreamed from the Central Christian Church.

The funeral was preceded by a procession from the Apache Junction Police Department at Idaho Road and Superstition Boulevard to the church at 933 N. Lindsay Road in Mesa.

Facio, a three-year veteran of the department, was shot in the face while responding to a call on June 2 and succumbed to his injuries six days later.

He is survived by his wife, two children and a grandchild.

Governor orders flags lowered for Apache Junction officer’s funeral

Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs ordered flags at state government buildings to be flown at half-staff until sunset Monday to recognize the fallen Apache Junction officer’s memorial service.
