What a view: See how Phoenix’s skyline has changed in recent years
Take a look at the before and after pictures that show the overwhelmingly beautiful changes that the Phoenix skyline has gone through the past couple years.
PHOENIX — The city of Phoenix’s skyline has been changing a lot lately, with new buildings popping up all over the downtown area.
While still dominated by the taller buildings, the skyline has had quite a few new additions in the past few years. From places like CityScape to new Arizona State University and University of Arizona buildings, things sure do look different.
To show how drastic the changes have been, the folks over at Rent Cafe put together some before and after pictures of new buildings and the impact that have on the surrounding neighborhood.
CityScape
Since its opening in 2014, CityScape has been the most noticeable change to the Phoenix skyline. The 27-story tower, home to businesses, a hotel and residences, is tough to miss.
South Court Tower
The South Court Tower, which houses 32 courtrooms within its 16 stories, has gone through a dramatic change since its completion in 2012. In addition to being breathtakingly beautiful, it’s also energy-efficient!
Freeport-McMoRan Center and The Westin Phoenix Downtown Hotel
The 26-floor Freeport-McMoRan Center offers businessmen and women a comfortable place to work, while the Westin Phoenix Downtown Hotel offers them an excellent place to escape, complete with a rooftop pool and a fitness studio.
ASU’s College of Nursing and Health Innovation
Started from the bottom and now we’re here — literally. ASU’s glass-and-copper multi-use facility has grown from the bottom up, offering students a peaceful place to work while staying within the confines of the city.
Roosevelt Point
Roosevelt Point offers students and middle-income residents the opportunity to experience high-class living at a reasonable price. The multi-building complex has also been one of the most influential changes for the ASU community.
Cigna Medical Group
Completed in 2013, the 3-story building has it all: medical offices, a pharmacy, a laboratory and an urgent care center — all run exclusively on solar power.
24th at Camelback II
24th at Camelback II is unlike any other building: Completed in 2010, it became Arizona’s first LEED-EB Platinum certified building.
Phoenix, Arizona Temple
The 64,870-square-foot Mormon temple located on nine acres of land rises approximately 120 feet above land, not including the spire.
Oasis Hospital
The result of a partnership of 42 orthopedic and spine surgeons, the Oasis Orthopedic and Spine Inpatient Surgical Hospital has given thousands of Arizonans the opportunity to heal in a resort-like setting.
Aloft Phoenix-Airport Hotel
The 143-room Aloft Phoenix-Airport Hotel offers guests free WiFi, flexible lounge space and a pool, all just minutes from Sky Harbor International Airport.
