Phoenix police offering $2,000 reward for information on fatal collision in early April

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Police Department is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for anyone with information on the suspect involved in a fatal collision that occurred on April 8, authorities said Saturday night.

At 4:45 p.m. on the date of the incident, officers responded to the area of 18th and Willetta streets to find a motorcyclist who had been hit by a vehicle. The suspect was not on the scene when police arrived.

Officers took the motorcyclist, identified as 20-year-old Michael Ochoa, to a nearby hospital. Ochoa died from his injuries.

Authorities said Ochoa was traveling northbound on 18th Street when he “collided with the rear driver side of (a) tow truck.”

Investigation revealed the truck, a black Dodge Ram 4500 with “no company markings,” was headed westbound on Willetta Street and it didn’t stop at a stop sign at the 18th Street intersection.
