United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arizona expanding east Phoenix facility

PHOENIX — United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of Central Arizona announced Tuesday it is expanding its east Valley location in Phoenix.

The facility, located on the Ability360 Campus near Washington and Madison streets, will receive a $400,000 expansion that will allow for more physical, occupational, speech and feeding therapy for children with disabilities.

As part of the expansion, the UCP facility will be the home of the “Baby G” Early Mobilization System. This new tool will help infants and young children learn new motor skills, including walking, crawling, jumping and sitting, according to a press release. 

“The Baby G technology will be life-changing for infants and children with cerebral palsy and other physical disabilities,” Valerie Pieraccini, Vice President at UCP of Central Arizona said in a press release. 

“This trailblazing tool helps fulfill UCP of Central Arizona’s mission to bring cutting-edge breakthroughs in therapy to the children and families we serve.”

What other features will be at UCP Phoenix facility?

The UCP facility will see an additional 1,400 square feet of space being added to the east Phoenix location, expanding from 1,600 to more than 3,000 square feet.

The expansion will host a program for children with motor disabilities that will include a rock-climbing wall for physical therapy activities.
