Geeks Night Out festival returns in Tempe this week

PHOENIX — Geeks Night Out, an annual STEAM festival, returns for its 12th iteration in Tempe and will take place on Wednesday.

The festival is free to attend and will be held at the Tempe Community Complex. The complex is located near Rural Road and Southern Avenue.

Geeks Night Out will take place from 5-7:30 p.m. Parking at the festival is free.

What activities will be at the Geeks Night Out festival?

The festival showcases several works in the science, technology, engineering, art and math fields.

More than 60 organizations will offer several activities at the festival including science experiments, performances, food trucks and more.

Food trucks at the festival will include options from Burgers Amore, Kona Ice of Tempe and All Cooped Up.

Performances at the event will be done by several schools in the Valley, including Connolly Middle School’s jazz band, Kyrene de las Brisas Elementary School’s Brisas Mallet Masters, Desert Vista’s steel drum band and McClintock High’s jazz band.
