A verbal argument turned into a shooting that left one man dead in Glendale on Friday evening, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A verbal argument turned into a shooting that left one man dead in Glendale on Friday evening, authorities said.
The shooting happened around 10 p.m., near the area of 63rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road.
Police performed live-saving measures on the man before paramedics later took him to the hospital. The man died at the hospital as a result of his injuries.
What led up to the Glendale shooting?
After an initial investigation, detectives believe the verbal altercation turned into a physical fight. The victim then was able to run away but later turned towards the shooter and made a move that suggested he was armed, according to police.
The shooter then shot at the victim several times, striking him once.
The investigation remains ongoing.
