Suspect outstanding after shooting in west Phoenix leaves 1 dead

PHOENIX — Police are searching for a suspect after a man was killed in a shooting in west Phoenix on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

At around 3:30 p.m., officers responded to a shooting near 51st Avenue and Osborn Road where they found a man with a gunshot wound.

He was taken to the hospital where he later died due to his injuries. 

According to the Phoenix Police Department, an altercation between the victim and suspect occurred prior to the shooting. The suspect then left the scene in an unknown getaway car with a driver who has not been identified.

The investigation remains ongoing. No other information was made available.
