Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run collision in Phoenix early Saturday

PHOENIX — A pedestrian was killed as part of a hit-and-run collision with a vehicle in Phoenix early Saturday.
According to police, Christopher Rhinehart, 38, died at a hospital from injuries he suffered in the incident near the intersection of 23rd and Northern avenues just before 2 a.m.
Police located the driver of the vehicle at his residence.
After gathering statements from witnesses and interviewing the driver, police did not make an arrest due to circumstances related to this incident, according to a press release.
“It was learned that Rhinehart was seen walking and rolling around in the roadway when he was hit by a passing car,” the release read.
No signs of intoxication were observed.
