Metro Phoenix weather something to be thankful for over holiday weekend

PHOENIX — Those planning to be in metro Phoenix over the holiday weekend can be thankful for clear skies and cool temperatures.

Wednesday’s high in Phoenix is supposed to touch 72 degrees before hitting 71 degrees on Thanksgiving, according to the National Weather Service.

Wind gusts could reach 25 mph Thursday afternoon, but that looks to be the only potential weather disturbance over the long holiday weekend.

Friday and Saturday are forecast to see a high of 70 degrees. Sunday will tick back up to 71 degrees, NWS said.

Lows will fluctuate between 44-47 degrees throughout the weekend.

People traveling up north will encounter similarly clear skies. Temperatures will be a bit more chilly, however.

Flagstaff’s Thanksgiving high is forecast to be 41 degrees, but it will warm up slightly over the weekend. Friday’s high will hit 50 degrees then jump to 55 degrees on Saturday before a drop back to 50 degrees on Sunday.

Lows will remain anywhere between 18 and 24 degrees, NWS said.

Sedona’s high on Thanksgiving is forecast to be 55 degrees, while Prescott is expected to reach 53 degrees.
