I-10 closure near Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport to hinder drivers this weekend

PHOENIX — Two Interstate 10 restrictions, including a closure near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, are set to occur this weekend.

Westbound I-10 will be closed between U.S. 60 Superstition Freeway and 32nd Street from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday for bridge construction as part of the Broadway Curve Improvement Project, the Arizona Department of Transportation said.

Also closed as part of the project are the westbound I-10 on-ramps between Elliot Road and 40th Street, the westbound U.S. 60 ramps to westbound I-10 and the westbound U.S. 60 on-ramps at McClintock Drive, Rural Road and Mill Avenue.

The southbound State Route 143 ramp to westbound I-10 is also set to be closed.

In Buckeye, westbound I-10 is scheduled to be narrowed to one lane between Watson and Miller roads from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday for an ongoing widening project, ADOT said.

Drivers should also be aware of a closure of Miller Road in both directions beneath the highway from 5 a.m. Monday through late August for interchange reconstruction.
