Chandler police reach out to public to find hit-and-run van driver

PHOENIX – Police in Chandler are searching for the driver of a van that hit a motorcycle rider who was seriously injured last month.

The Chandler Police Department said investigators need help from the public to identify the driver of the white van in the Feb. 17 hit-and-run at Chandler Boulevard and Delaware Street.

The van turned left onto Chandler Boulevard, hit the Harley-Davidson motorcycle and fled the scene around 5:40 p.m. Video corroborated witness statements as to the color of the van.

Police said the van driver is a white male between 60 and 70 years old, and has a white beard and a mustache.

The van possibly has damage to the front passenger bumper and fender, police said.
