Saturday flyover to honor Cave Creek American Legion Post’s 75th anniversary

PHOENIX — People in Cave Creek can look to the skies at noon on Saturday and see a flyover in celebration of American Legion Post 34’s 75th anniversary.

Provided by the Wings of Flight Foundation out of Falcon Field, the organization said the planes will fly over Cave Creek Road and head west before turning around to go east.

The flyover takes place following the Cave Creek Rodeo Days Parade that begins along Cave Creek Road at 9 a.m.

People can watch the parade at the Post located at 6272 E. Cave Creek Road while enjoying breakfast burritos from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., the organization said.

That will be followed by two USO-type shows performed by the Manhattan Dolls at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

The day concludes with music at the Post from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The American Legion Post was chartered on Jan. 2, 1947, and welcomes veterans from all branches of the Armed Forces, according to the official website.
