Silver Alert canceled after Surprise man with cognitive disorder found safe

PHOENIX – A Silver Alert was canceled Friday after a West Valley man who has a cognitive disorder was found safe.

Frederick Norris Buford, 74, had last been seen at his Surprise home near Bell Road and Cotton Lane around 5 p.m. on Thursday.

Buford stands 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs 144 pounds. He has white hair and brown eyes and was possibly wearing blue jeans and a blue flannel jacket.
