Pop-up roller skating rink coming to downtown Gilbert in March

PHOENIX – Get ready to lace up ’em and boogie oogie oogie until you just can’t boogie anymore.

A pop-up roller skating rink is coming to downtown Gilbert for 12 days in March, including five theme nights.

The event, called Let the Good Times Roll, will be held March 10-21 at a temporary rink on Ash Street south of Page Avenue, just west of Water Tower Plaza.

Skating hours vary by day, with free use Monday-Thursday and a Friday-Sunday fee of $5 per hour, which includes skate rentals. Tickets for weekend time slots can be purchased in advance online.

Participants must be at least 4 years old, and you can bring your own skates.

The Gilbert Farmer’s Market will go on as usual in the parking area next to the rink from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays, so be prepared for plenty of traffic in the area if you plan to skate early March 12 or 19.

Parking is free at the surrounding surface lots and garages.

Skaters are encouraged to dress the part for the following theme nights (6-8 p.m., except where noted):

  • ‘80s Night: Friday, March 11
  • ‘90s Night: Saturday, March 12
  • St. Patrick’s Day: Thursday, March 17 (all day)
  • Disco Night: Friday, March 18
  • Glow Night: Saturday, March 19

  • Thursday, March 10: 1-7 p.m.
  • Friday, March 11: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 12: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • Sunday, March 13: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • Monday, March 14: 1-7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, March 15: 1-7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, March 16: 1-7 p.m.
  • Thursday, March 17: 1-7 p.m.
  • Friday, March 18: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 19: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • Sunday, March 20: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • Monday, March 21: 1-7 p.m.
