Phoenix man found dead after argument leads to gunfire

PHOENIX — A man was left dead following a shooting near 27th and Glenrosa avenues after an incident occurred in Phoenix Sunday morning.

Around 5:20 a.m., Phoenix Police responded to a shooting call and when they arrived at the scene they found Britten Singleton, 33, who was struck by gunfire, according to a press release.

Singleton was transported to a local hospital where was pronounced dead, the release said.

During course of the investigation, detectives spoke to witnesses and learned Singleton and an unknown suspect had gotten into a verbal argument at an apartment complex near Indian School Road and Black Canyon Highway.

The suspect then shot at Singleton during the argument. Singleton was able to flee the scene and police were called to his location at 27th Avenue and Glenrosa Avenue.

No suspects are in custody as the investigation remains ongoing at this time.
