A woman died after getting hit by a train near 27th Avenue and Thomas Road in Phoenix on Thursday evening, authorities said.

PHOENIX – A woman died after getting hit by a train in Phoenix on Thursday evening, authorities said.
Ciara Chacon, 34, was walking next to the railroad tracks near 27th Avenue and Thomas Road around 5:45 p.m., the Phoenix Police Department said in a press release Friday.
Police said she became distracted by an argument nearby and stepped back into the path of a train.
She died of her injuries at the scene, police said.
