VIDEO: Phoenix police trying to find suspect in brazen cigarette theft

PHOENIX — Police are investigating after a woman boldly stole a bagful of cigarettes from a Phoenix convenience store in an incident captured on surveillance video.

The theft took place around 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 24 at the QuikTrip on Glendale Avenue near 19th Avenue, the Phoenix Police Department said in a press release Wednesday.

The suspect was described as a 30-year-old woman with black hair and brown eyes who is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 120 pounds.

Her face was covered by a brown neck gaiter mask during the crime, and she was wearing a black beanie, white T-shirt, white shorts and black tennis shoes.

She can be seen in surveillance video entering the store and stepping over the low swinging door to get behind the counter. She proceeds to fill a plastic grocery bag with cigarettes, ignoring an employee’s effort to stop her, before leaving without paying.
