14-year-old Mesa boy with autism found safe; Silver Alert canceled

PHOENIX — A Silver Alert was canceled Tuesday after a 14-year-old Mesa boy with autism was found safe, authorities said.

Elijah Eaglefeathers had last been early Sunday at home near Eighth Avenue and Horne, the Mesa Police Department said in a press release.

Police said the teen, who functions at the level of an 8-year-old, had left on foot and was familiar with his neighborhood but he didn’t usually stay away this long.
