Nickelback cancels Phoenix date, rest of tour after medical emergency

PHOENIX — A health emergency to lead singer Chad Kroger has forced Nickelback to cancel its North American tour, the band announced Monday.

The Canadian group’s tour included a July 1 date in the Valley at Ak-Chin Pavilion.

Kroger must undergo throat surgery after doctors found a cyst on his larynx.

The band, best known for the singles “How You Remind Me,” “Photograph” and “Far Away,” released a video to break the news.

Refunds will be available at point of purchase.
