PHOENIX — Those who are looking for work as the job market comes back from the COVID-19 pandemic should look toward the East Valley, according to a personal finance website.
WalletHub ranked 182 of the nation’s largest cities on the best places to find a job in 2022, with two East Valley cities placing among the top 20.
Scottsdale came in at No. 8 overall, just ahead of Chandler that ranked No. 16.
Fellow East Valley city Tempe was just outside the top 20 with a No. 23 ranking, followed by Gilbert at No. 31.
Arizona cities were littered throughout the top 100, with Glendale coming in at No. 49 followed by Peoria (No. 52), Mesa (No. 61), Phoenix (No. 75) and Tucson (No. 88).
WalletHub compared the cities on job market and socio-economics, with various metrics being looked at as part of those two categories.
Among the metrics were the cities with the lowest unemployment rate and highest median income, which Scottsdale tied for first in both with six other cities on the way to a No. 7 overall ranking in job market and No. 17 in socio-economics.
Glendale was also determined to have the second-highest employment growth.
The best city in the nation to find a job this year is Columbia, Maryland, according to WalletHub, while the worst was Gulfport, Mississippi.
