More than 250k fentanyl pills seized in Phoenix as part of federal initiative

PHOENIX — More than 250,000 fentanyl pills, other drugs and weapons were seized in Phoenix as part of a federal initiative targeting West Valley narcotics drug dealers, authorities said Wednesday.

After serving a search warrant at a Phoenix residence on Dec. 9, officers seized $250,000 in cash, methamphetamine, cocaine, four guns, three vehicles and the fentanyl pills, the Goodyear Police Department said in a press release.

Brian Meza-Raya, 18, of Phoenix, is facing multiple felony charges related to drug distribution, including narcotic drug sales, unlawful flight and illegally conducting an enterprise.

“Our goal is to keep drugs and crime out of our neighborhoods,” Police Chief Santiago Rodriguez said in the release.

“Last week, the DEA kicked off their ‘One Pill Can Kill’ campaign, and this significant drug seizure aids in getting drugs off our streets anf away from families.”
