MCSO hosting barbecue fundraiser for family of lieutenant killed by vehicle

PHOENIX — The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is holding a barbecue fundraiser Wednesday for the family of fallen Lt. Chad Brackman.
The fundraiser takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office headquarters at 550 W. Jackson St. in Phoenix.
Monetary donations of cash, check or credit cards will be accepted with 100% of the donations benefitting the Brackman family.
Hot dogs and hamburgers will be served for $5 a plate.
Brackman was working off-duty directing traffic on Nov. 10 at 87th Street and McDowell Road in Scottsdale when he was hit by a vehicle at about 10 a.m.
He was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Brackman, 47, was a 22-year veteran of MCSO and leaves behind a wife, two children and two stepchildren.
