Unusually warm temperatures delay opening of Arizona Snowbowl season

PHOENIX — Arizona Snowbowl announced Monday the opening day of its 2021-22 season has been delayed due to unusually warm temperatures.

Originally scheduled to get underway on Friday, the season has been delayed until further notice.

Snowbowl said in a press release its team will continue to work tirelessly to produce snow with its state-of-the-art snowmaking system as the temperatures fall.

When opening day does come, the terrain is weather-dependent and will be limited. It was also said no beginner terrain is expected to be available on opening day.

Customer service will be reaching out to people 72 hours in advance of their ticket date if the mountain remains closed to assist with any exchanges or credits.

People can also change their purchase through the Snowbowl Self-Service portal, which is emailed after a purchase is made.

Updates on opening day of the 2021-22 Snowbowl season can be found online.

The 2020-21 Snowbowl season began on Nov. 20 and ended on May 2.
