3 children taken to hospital after chlorine exposure at Paradise Valley school

PHOENIX — Three children were taken to a hospital Tuesday after being exposed to chlorine at a Paradise Valley school, authorities said.

Firefighters were called to Phoenix Country Day School at about 12:15 p.m. after reports of multiple exposed children who were nauseous, vomiting and having difficulty breathing, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

One child was sent to the hospital because of difficulty breathing while the other two were taken as a precaution, according to Phoenix Fire.

No active chlorine leak was present at the school, which is located near 40th Street and Camelback Road, Phoenix Fire said.

The fire department was investigating the incident.

No other information was immediately available.
