PHOENIX — A 2-year-old boy is in extremely critical condition after a drowning incident in Phoenix on Sunday, authorities said.

Firefighters arrived at a home near 12th Street and Union Hill Drive and found the boy pulled out of the pool and not breathing, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

Advanced life resuscitation efforts were performed before the child was transported to the hospital, authorities said.

The family stated they don’t know how long the child was in the water.
