Ducey highlights Arizona-Mexico trade relationship during visit to Nogales

PHOENIX — Governor Doug Ducey visited Nogales on Wednesday to highlight the trade relationship between Arizona and Mexico and celebrate the grand opening of Chamberlain Distributing’s new refrigerated facility.

The new 60,000 square-foot St. James Cooler facility has been equipped with modern technology to help further trade between Arizona and Mexico.

“A strong Arizona-Sonora relationship is a strong U.S.-Mexico relationship,” Ducey said in a press release.

“This new refrigerated facility in Nogales will help further this partnership, create jobs and support continued economic growth.”

Based in Nogales, Arizona, trading company Chamberlain Distributing imports fruits and vegetables from cities in Mexico.

Throughout the pandemic, Mexico remained Arizona’s top trading partner with trade between Arizona and Mexico totaling nearly $16 billion last year, according to the release.

Ducey credited the work and dedication of importers in Santa Cruz County for helping make trade between the United States and Mexico successful.
