Phoenix Ritz-Carlton to close, change its name

There are only two Ritz-Carlton hotels in Arizona, and one of them is saying goodbye this summer.

KJZZ reports the hotel is undergoing a major facelift and will be closing its doors this July with an expected return sometime early next year.

After the renovations are complete, the resort will emerge with a new name. It will become a part of the Marriott’s Autograph Collection and also have a new manager, Destination Hotels & Resorts.

The other Ritz-Carlton location is Dove Mountain in Marana.
